In the latest issue of the popular Austrian IT magazine e-media I'm commenting on the future of the music business and how artists will make money in the future. Other comments in this article are coming from Hannes Eder / Universal and Martin Stiksel / last.fm.

I belive in a three - way model:

• Online business - Ad-supported Streaming, Download-Shops etc
  
• Live gigs / Merchandising
• Physical sound carriers like CDs in premium versions, with Bonus material etc
  

Artists should definitly focus on the first two revenue streams, the third one will only be valid if you've a loyal fan base.
